How Jennifer is teaching her kids Italian at home with ease + not letting her sons learning challenges hold him back!

Whenever you embark on a new journey, there’s that really loud voice that loves to make a list of all the reasons you shouldn’t start now. Or how you’re going to fail or it’s going to be a waste of time and money.

Don’t listen to that voice mama. That voice is your doubt. And today we’re going to let another supermama clear up some of your doubts.

Recently, I was able to connect with Jennifer to share her experience on how she managed to get her kiddos to learn Italian and even some Spanish simultaneously.

Some background on Jennifer

Jennifer is a mom to a 7-year-old son with special needs and a 3-year-old little girl. Who are both being homeschooled.

Coming from Italy, she grew up speaking multiple languages. Which gave birth to her dream of traveling around the world and experiencing different cultures with her kids.

Jennifer’s journey to getting her kids started on the program

Before Jennifer started with the program, she used to do little experiments on her kids to understand their way of learning.

She would experiment with playing music and TV shows in different languages to see if it would strike up some curiosity and help them pick up some Italian. Having spoken Italian growing up, she would also expose her kids to the language any time her mom (their nonna) was around.

Then she’d wait and see if it sparked something in them to learn the language.

However, after some time of experimenting, Jennifer noticed that any word that her kiddos did catch on to would be soon forgotten. Nothing would really stick and they were back to speaking in their first language.

So, when Jennifer started homeschooling them, integrating language lessons was a no-brainer for her. This is where The Culture Home came in handy!

How did Jennifer find The Cultured Kid Italian lessons?

A major plus for Jennifer about the program is that her little ones not only got to hear the words but also got to see the words through actions in our interactive videos and this really helped her kids grasp the words better.

It was truly immersive.

The fact that our program allows you to work at your own pace proved to be extremely helpful when it came to lessons with her son who has special needs. Having the option and convenience of spending as little as 5 minutes on a lesson daily or getting to save up the lesson for the end of the week was a game changer.

She took baby steps by covering small portions of lessons each day and now her kids can’t seem to get enough of them and are always so keen to move forward with their weekly practice.

On top of that, she never imagined the excitement her kids would have for the interactive games and the flashcards included in the program.

Turns out, her son is having so much fun learning Italian with The Cultured Kid, he’s started looking for lessons in other languages! His little sister has a Spanish book and now whenever he’s having his Italian lessons he’s also asking his mama for the word in Spanish.

The cool thing about young brains is that they have no problem learning 2 or even 4 languages at once if they really wanted to.

“I did not know what to expect from my son, especially since he’s a special needs child, but he’s been curious about both languages and has been blossoming well.”

Mama Jennifer and her kids are showing us that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. Learning TWO languages at the same time? Pfft, piece of cake 🍰
